“ A fabulous addition to NYC’s culinary landscape! Chef Surbhi Sahni’s new restaurant and sweets shop at South Street Seaport is wonderful in every way - from the decor to the presentation to the flavors to the specialty cocktails to the staff. My wife said they’ve pulled off something unusual: Serving dishes from two ends of India - a Kashmir meat dish and a Tamil Nadu fish dish - that both taste authentically homemade. We wanted to try everything on the menu but only go through about 50%! My teenage kids loved the food and non-alcoholic drinks and were so complimentary about how the shrimp, chicken and cauliflower were each cooked perfectly. We were thrilled and can’t wait to return! ”
“ Overall rating: 4.5 I’ve been here twice, and I loveee the happy hour. Note, it’s only on T-Th 5-7pm. I tried to come on a Monday around the time & failed I don’t know how else to describe this grilled cheese to you, but it was soo good. It was so good that I still think about it. I usually don’t lovee fusion, but this dish I NEED. We had some other dishes that I can’t place, but hopefully the pictures help. The second time I went, the food was okay. It was a different menu and very spicy. Both times, the service was goood. But hard to track down & order. The drinks were just okay as well. I wanted more mango. Don’t come here for cocktails, come here for the grilled cheese happy hour. Will definitely be back soon. ”
“ Amazing food. The dishes are simple and incredibly well cooked and full of flavor. We got the eggplant, lamb dumplings/meatballs and Goan shrimp. The shrimps tasted so fresh! The lamb meatballs were light/fluffy and meaty at the same time. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will be going back soon. ”
“ 4.5/5 We tried the sabudana vada, masala melt sandwich, eral chukka, mango lassi and the firni. The food was really good! The lassi was amazing - not too sweet and didn’t taste artificial. The firni had a heavy hit of kesar but it tasted nice. It’s great that they have sabudana vada since it’s not a common menu item in Indian restaurants in NYC. The ambience was great. We went for brunch late on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t crowded. They had Bollywood music playing and it created a good vibe. The only downside is that this restaurant is expensive. I would still recommend this place for good food and a good time! ”
“ All 7 of the dishes we ordered were delicious and satisfying! We got almost all of the veggie dishes , the goat, prawn, and the beetroot. Food was well flavored and hard to pick a favourite one! Service was also very friendly and fast ”
“ Tango serves Indian tapas-style dishes, which are small portions that are ideal for sharing. Our server was incredibly attentive and provided us with valuable guidance in selecting the right dishes for us since we are vegans. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience. ”
“ Wow, this was one of the best meals I've ever had. Every dish was perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented. The flavors were subtle and delicate and each bite was exquisite, you could tell the chefs cared deeply about their food. I am blown away. ”
“ Absolutely a must visit restaurant! The well decorated restaurant, excellent staff, and elegant cocktails elevate your mood and senses while you peruse the menu. Then, the food arrives and wows you. Some dishes are simple homestyle dishes with a twist while others are fusion delights. ”
